Program: Public Installation
For the EXPO 2023 teaser at the Doha World Cup, Bits to Atoms and Post Industrial Crafts proposed to recreate in the Gardens of the city, a large version of the EXPO’s flowery logo, using large-scale robotic 3D printing of recycled plastic.
Composing with Designs from its catalog and a few ones created for the occasion, a playground organized around the largest 3D printed geodesic structure ever made to date, is offering a large variety of seating experiences to visitors.
Rocking conversations, benches, armchairs, chairs, all 3D printed from recycled plastic to the colors of EXPO 2023’s logo and lit at night, are at disposal of the parents while their children can explore the intricacy of the large geodesic art installation by climbing on and in it.
Designed as a small teaser into what EXPO 2023 will be, the installation is an experiment showing how an excellent level of sustainability can be reached while creating a unique and customized experience for visitors.
